Ahead of The Queen’s 96th Birthday tomorrow, @windsorhorse have released a new photograph of Her Majesty. Taken last month in the grounds of Windsor Castle, The Queen is pictured with two of her fell ponies, Bybeck Katie and Bybeck Nightingale. Happy Birthday Your Majesty!

With wind instruments it is common to use the thumb to support the instrument, but the bassoon is highly unusual among wind instruments as all ten fingers are used to play. The role of the left thumb is particularly distinctive, and there are at least ten keys that can be operated using just the left thumb.
My left hand was so small that I had to keep my fingers straight and I couldn’t wear any ring or bracelet.
