I am a classically trained musician (bassoon) who loves to draw and now works as a secretary for a police department (life happens).

I have two cats, love God, reading (particularly British cozy mysteries), classical music & composers (Beethoven, Vivaldi, etc.), symphony orchestras, art (realism being my favorite) and much, much more.

My favorite singers are Adam Lambert, Josh Groban, John Barrowman & Nancy Knote. Adam's guitarist, Tommy Joe Ratliff, unknowingly to him, motivated me to return to drawing after I quit years ago.

I have recently become interested in other pop/rock bands (surprise to me) but no one will ever replace Tommy or Adam.

I started this blog out to post my drawings of Tommy but it has turned out to reflect how I feel, what I love and what I find interesting and beautiful. You'll basically get to know a lot about me after viewing "My World in Grays."

If anyone would like to commission a drawing from a photograph, please contact me at cargill214@yahoo.com (I'm not that expensive). See my work here or more at http://joilieder.deviantart.com/

Enjoy!

Photo reblogged from Bassoonist Problems with 27 notes

It amazes me, when you think of it, how did the designer(s) of the bassoon decide a human being could even play 9 or 10 keys with one thumb, plus it being the left hand when most the population is right-handed?  But then, I did it so maybe they knew what they were doing.
